Darcey Conway

Mother Earth

Darcey has been training in musical theatre since she was six, having performed in the original cast of Ferryman Play at the Royal Court in London at age 9, in the role of Mercy Carney, before it transferred to Broadway. Her other credits include performances in Annie, Aladdin, Les Miserables and Why The Whales Came, working closely with the writer and producer to help develop the new musical. Most recently she graduated from the Carley Lewis Dance company where she got a Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance , and she is looking forward to taking a gap year at Artemis College of Performing Arts. She is very excited to be making her Edinburgh Fringe debut in the title role of Mother Earth, and feels blessed to be a part of such a wonderful cast.

Wren Welfare

Moon

Wren is very excited to be working with OddSock Theatre and to be making their Fringe debut. They grew up taking part in youth musicals at the Sheringham Little Theatre and now take classes with Hoopla Impro. Their favourite past credits include Ez in Arrivals and Departures (Bromley Little Theatre, 2024) and Gabriel in the Nativity (All Saints’ Primary, 2010)

Saffron Nicholas

Sol

Saffron is a Musical Theatre performer in training, recently completing her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre and A Level Drama qualifications at CAPA College. She is now excited to begin her Musical Theatre Degree at Arts1 in September. She has a wide range of performance experience ranging from lead roles in plays with local amateur dramatics companies to principal dancer, supporting and understudy roles in college productions and performing on an MCS Cruise ship last summer. She has greatly developed her abilities as a triple-threat from dedicated training at a young age, including recently with The National Youth Theatre. Saffron is previously experienced at new musical development after being Dance Captain for two new musical workshops with the National Youth Music Theatre last year, and is excited to be taking on her first lead in a musical for her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Mother Earth.

Matthew Ashley

Matthew has always had a passion for performing and musical theatre, from singing Christmas carols with school live on GMTV in 2009, to recently finishing a 3 year course of Musical Theatre Performance at the University of Chichester and graduating this September. Joining the early stages of workshopping Mother Earth, Matthew was thrilled for this exciting opportunity to be able to take this show and perform at his first ever Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Jess Dixon

Luca

Jess is so excited to make her Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut with Mother Earth, she cannot wait to work on another new musical. She is a versatile, dynamic and passionate performer who loves to bring a story to life in a range of styles, she especially enjoys storytelling within her performance. As well as a performer Jess is also a writer, writing the book for A True Royal a new musical that had its debut at the Leeds Theatre Festival in 2025. She has recently graduated from her master's degree in Musical Theatre at Leeds Conservatoire. While there Jess performed in multiple new musicals including as Rebecca in the new musical Twenty Bridges written by Gus Gowland and directed by Rachael Halliwell and Ash in Going Out a new musical by Max Barron and Hannah Shaw.

Rebecca McKinnon

Rebecca is originally from the North East of  Scotland and has been performing since she was 14 when she started high school. She then joined two drama groups and  studied at Aberdeen College of Performing Arts and continued her training at Arts University Bournemouth and is now based in West London. A theatre performer with stage combat qualifications, Rebecca loves to bring characters to life using the art of live theatre. Rebecca has been on tour with AUB doing a performance of Romeo and Juliet (2024) and also done musicals such as: Wizard of Oz, Grease, Hairspray, Sweet Charity, School of Rock and much more. Rebecca has also done new work, these include: Still Here (2025), Snow (2022) and now making her Edinburgh Fringe Debut with Mother Earth.  

Fiona Culley

Madam Fifi

Fiona is delighted to take part in her second production with OddSock Theatre at the Edinburgh Festival, having appeared in the ensemble of Psalms in 2008. Fiona has portrayed a number of diverse characters in musical theatre since her debut in 1967 as Mrs Wise Owl (Tufty Club). These range from a park keeper, and black bird, to femme fatale. She has recently entered the dowager phase on stage. Her most recent role was Mrs Walsingham in Half a Sixpence at Winston Churchill Theatre, Ruislip in March 2026. Her favourite parts to date include Vera in Stepping Out in 1996 and Grace Farrell in Annie in 2025. Fiona has recently retired from her day job, and is investing more time in travelling and singing across most genres, attending musical workshops, and enjoying theatre trips. She is currently an active member of a small acapella group and a chamber choir.

Sienna Tierney

Sienna studied Musical Theatre at |Elstree Screen Arts for two years and has trained in dance for 14 years. Alongside performing on stage, they have appeared in the professional dance film Shattering Conceptions, which was filmed at Sky Studios. They are delighted to be part of Mother Earth.

Steve Williams

Chicxulub

Colleague, friend and culture sharer of our esteemed director Mo, Steve found himself roped into the workshops and now cast of Mother Earth. Not since corpsing on stage in 2014 as Mr Bumble has he graced the boards. However, having taken part into the early workshops over the past year and seeing this saga form, his love for theatre and performing has reignited. Steve is an avid film historian and his acting style is inspired by watching the old Hollywood stars. Steve has also previously been spotted showing off his dance moves alongside Mo during the Electric Umbrella Britain' Got Talent golden buzzer run. He is very excited to soak up the Edinburgh Fringe atmosphere and be part of this incredible opportunity.

Orla Bentley

Associate Producer

Orla has spent their life enjoying, performing and working in theatre. Having participated in a range of roles in theatre, from performing since age six with Through The Wardrobe, to working as a stage manager and dance captain in regional showcases, writing scripts for school performances to painting sets for local amdram groups, they are excited to be undertaking a new role as associate producer in for the first time. Orla currently works at the National Theatre in the Communications team where they have developed an interest in production from the range of projects they have taken part in. After taking part in Mother Earth’s first workshop, they were inspired to push their skills and undertake a more hands-on role from the start. This experience has inspired them to look further into the world of production and are proud to be making their producer debut at Edinburgh Fringe.  

Grace Barham

Choreographer

Grace is a choreographer and dance artist who recently graduated with a BA (Hons) in Dance from the University of Chichester Conservatoire. Having danced since childhood, Grace developed a passion for the arts and enjoyed creating choreography that tells stories, explores meaningful themes, sparks conversation and creates a lasting impact. Her choreography credits include Rolling, Broken Champagne, Resistance and Life Beyond Injury. Alongside choreographing, she has experience as a performer, dance teacher, arts administrator, events organiser, producing her university dance society's end of year show and completing a placement with the Dance Programme Leader and Participation Team at Mayflower Theatre and MAST Studios in Southampton. Drawn to Mother Earth by the opportunity to help shape a brand-new musical from its earliest stages, Grace is thrilled to make her Edinburgh Fringe debut, bringing the universe and show's themes of family, community, belonging and hope to life through movement.

Anna Serby

Photographer and Social Media Manager

Anna is excited to be capturing the energy of the Mother Earth company to share an insight of the show's journey. Having studied Film and TV Production at West Herts College, before getting a job as a Photographer and Film Maker for Electric Umbrella, where she helped the charity capture their performances and raise awareness on its social media. Since then she has been doing freelance photography and social media work for a range of projects. In her spare time she enjoys spending as much time with dogs and finding new recipes to cook. Anna first went to the Edinburgh Fringe as child with OddSock Theatre’s previous production of Psalms and is looking forward to returning as an adult.

Paul Guppy

Keyboard

Paul learned to play the piano at an early age, building on this training to become a church organist soon after leaving university. After this largely classical experience, it was a friend at church, Alan Combes (the percussionist for “Mother Earth”) who introduced Paul to the magical world of musicals some 25 years ago.  Since then, he’s played keys for numerous musicals for several amateur groups including memorable runs of “We will rock you” and “Little Shop of Horrors”.  He also took to the stage for one show which was an amazing experience, but one which proved to him that acting and dancing are harder than they look! Paul fell in love with Robert Barham’s music when playing keys for “Archie” in Ickenham and Bristol, so is delighted to be helping with the debut of “Mother Earth” in Edinburgh.  

Sien Gill  

Violin

Sien is a very recent initiate into musical theatre, having lived under a rock at the bottom of the cultural ocean until late 2025. Since emerging from the primordial existence, they have been on an intensive musical theatre educational programme overseen by their best friend. Mother Earth is the first musical they have performed in - a particularly exciting prospect as this is also their first time performing since taking part in concerts in a University string ensemble. Outside of playing the violin they are also undertaking a PhD.

Ethan Rose

Bass

Ethan has been playing bass and guitar since the age of seven and has performed across the UK in a range of banks and projects. He's played at venues including Rebellion Festival in Blackpool, the O2 Academy in London, and The Green Door Store in Brighton with his original band, SNM, who have built a strong following. Some career highlight include performing in front of members of the Royal Family during the King's Coronation celebrations and playing alongside members of The Prodigy's touring band. As well as original music, Ethan regularly performs with a professional function band, playing weddings, corporate events, and private functions across the UK. Alongside performing, Ethan teaches bass and guitar in Brighton. He enjoys helping students of all ages and abilities improve their playing, whether they're picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to take their skills to the next level. Her is going into his final year of Uni where he is studying music performance. He is yet to play in a setting like Edinburgh Fringe so is ready for the challenge.
